Cabled Scarf in 2 ply Philosopher's Wool

Finished Length: 4 to 6 feet

Tension: 16 sts = 4" (4 sts = 1") over moss stitch

Yarn: 2 skeins Philosophers 2 ply wool

Needles: 5.0mm

Abbreviations: C6B: Slip next 3 stitches on to a cable needle and hold at back of work. Knit next 3 stitches from left hand needle. Knit 3 stitches from cable needle.

Fringe: Wind off sufficient wool to make the fringe. You can use the narrower width of a video box. Seventy wraps around the box will give ample fringe.

Scarf: Cast on 35 stitches. Knit as follows until all the wool is used up or desired length is achieved.

Row 1: *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1, K6, P1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, K1,P1, K6, P1,*K1P1*, repeat two times .
Row 2: *P1K1*, repeat two times, K1, P6, K1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1,K1, P6, K1,*P1K1*, repeat two times .
Row 3: *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1, C6B, P1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, K1,P1, C6B, P1,*K1P1*, repeat two times .
Row 4: *P1K1*, repeat two times, K1, P6, K1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1,K1, P6, K1,*P1K1*, repeat two time .
Row 5: *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1, K6, P1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, K1,P1, K6, P1,*K1P1*, repeat two times .
Row 6: *P1K1*, repeat two times, K1, P6, K1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1,K1, P6, K1,*P1K1*, repeat two times .
Row 7: *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1, K6, P1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, K1,P1, K6, P1,*K1P1*, repeat two times .
Row 8: *P1K1*, repeat two times, K1, P6, K1, *K1P1*, repeat two times, P1,K1, P6, K1,*P1K1*, repeat two times .
Repeat Rows 1 to 8 until scarf is complete.

To Wash: Hand wash in a large sink with Sunlight Liquid detergent in hand warm water. Allow to soak for 2 or 3 minutes, drain and rinse in several sinks of warm water. Squeeze gently and spin out excess in washer. Lay out flat on a towel, by wood stove or radiator until dry. Our wool washes easily and beautifully or you may dry clean.
